Dungarpur is named after the "Town of Hillocks" and is the capital of former Princely state of Dungarpur . It is located in the southern part of Rajasthan .It is also known as "Vagad" and is mainly a tribal region. This district is still undeveloped in all respect especially in the field of education.

     After independence a lot has been done to educate the tribal of the area. It was in 1964, that government opened a College. Since then traditional courses in Arts, Science and Commerce are being ruined in the College.
